   It has been awhile since an album has really excited me like Tourist History by Two Door Cinema Club. I have been listening to this album now for a week straight. This album is a great mixture of the Retro disco pop and modern electronical pop.

The Flaming Lips -Embryonic

And the award for most experimental rock band goes to...The Flaming Lips.

If there was an award for experimental rock, the flaming lips would hands down take the award. No fear. No desire to do what mainstream music does. From Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, At War With the Mystics, The Soft Bulletin and even their earlier stuff like Hit to Death in the Future Head and Zaireeka their music transcends time and space. When you listen to their songs, lyrically and musically, you definitely go on a journey.

The Dirty Heads - Any Port in A Storm - Special Edition

Haling from Orange County, The Dirty Heads are seeming to put Orange County back on the music scene and doing it without any hardcore rifts. Usually known for the hardcore scene, the OC brought us a nice infusion of hip-hop, acoustic rock and reggae through The Dirty Heads.

It started way back in high school for Jared Watson and guitarist/vocalist Dustin Bushnell when they started a friendship that consisted of music, sun, ocean water, surfing, endless parties and the laid-back SoCal social life.
