Band of Horses releases their third full-length LP today entitled Infinite
Arms. The big boys have apparently gotten their hands on them as
they
have switched labels from Subpop to Columbia. However, this album does
follow suit with the stuff they have produced in the past - a folkish
sound with a modern spice to it. Overall the album is a little too
chill for my taste and I would prefer for them to incorporate a little
more energy like they did in their previous album. Yet for those of you
who just want to chill out and listen to some good music, this is for
you.

Today (September 1st) Dave Bazan has released his first LP under his name (since Pedro the Lion or Headphones) on Barsuk records entitled Curse Your Branches. I am rather pleased with the outcome from this boy yet not raving crazy.

Hold the phones. The Avett Brothers just released “I and Love and You” the title track single from their upcoming album. This is the North Carolina group’s first album produced on a major label and so far it doesn’t disappoint.

Fanfarlo's first full-length LP, Reservoir is perhaps the best disc to land this year by a relatively unknown, unsigned, visionary sextet. At the very least, it is a hidden gem sure to add a shine to your heart and for the price, is not to be missed.
Recalling Baudelaire's novella La Fanfarlo, from which their name is derived, Fanfarlo is surley setting themselves up to be the example of romantic irony the music world needs right now.
