One of the most current and inventive bands around today - Menomena - is soon to release their (third) full length album entitled Mines.  I have been keeping my eyes out for them and it looks like things are stirring.

Arcade Fire - Single Preview

Apparently the Arcade Fire is getting close to releasing their follow up to Neon Bible in the next few weeks.   If you check their website they have a neat flash player that lets you preview two new songs "Suburbs" and "Month of May."  I am hoping that the wait will end soon.

Band of Horses - Infinite Arms

Band of Horses - Infinite Arms
Band of Horses releases their third full-length LP today entitled Infinite Arms.  The big boys have apparently gotten their hands on them as they have switched labels from Subpop to Columbia.  However, this album does follow suit with the stuff they have produced in the past - a folkish sound with a modern spice to it.  Overall the album is a little too chill for my taste and I would prefer for them to incorporate a little more energy like they did in their previous album.  Yet for those of you who just want to chill out and listen to some good music, this is for you.

For the next twelve months, I seek to write, play and experience music with people in the context of other cultures I do not know as intimately as my own.” Four years ago, Wheeler Sparks submitted these words to the Watson Foundation in what proved to be a successful endeavor to obtain a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship. He then embarked upon a trek across the globe to study the distinct musical cultures of Ireland, Spain, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, India, China (Tibet) and Mongolia.

   It has been awhile since an album has really excited me like Tourist History by Two Door Cinema Club. I have been listening to this album now for a week straight. This album is a great mixture of the Retro disco pop and modern electronical pop.
