Northern Kings - We Don't Need Another Hero

Because it's EPIC, here is the Northern Kings' version of Tina Turner's "We Don't Need Another Hero." You know your tough if you can do a Tina Turner cover and turn it into some sort of mid-evil castle chant meets 20th century fashion: top hats, tuxes with tails, Red Barron scarves and all and not crack a smile. I don't know about you, but I'd love to have a castle built in the air!

If for nothing else, it's worth checking out 2:05 for "MMmmmnn Love and Compassion--aawh....."

There's something about this Northern Kings version and I've had to listen to it dozens of times. Maybe it's how they twiddle their fingers and look up into the camera with that EPIC quality.

Project RNL

Yea, that's right, this small little start-up, Project RnL, kicks your butt and it falls right off!

Project RnL sounds like the love child of original Incubus on a smooth-jazz elevator ride into the clouds with with System of a Down.
Plus they are from Israel. And no language looks cooler than Hebrew.

Stryper - Breaking the Law - R&R

Dropping the strypes they were known for, 20 years ago Stryper went "Against the Law" growing beards and taking photos in front of jail cells. Now, they find themselves "Breaking the Law." What's going on with this band who's core focus has always been to preach the message of Jesus?

Stryper - Oz - Mike - Guitars
I couldn't think of a better thing to post for our 200th post than something on Stryper.

Thanks to our Finnish YouTube friend, FinnStrype, we have 3 volumes of Stryper guitar solos.

I defy any band, anywhere in the timeline of history to produce a better catalog of guitar solos. It hasn't been done yet, and with as fast as we are killing the earth I doubt it ever will.

Stryper's Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar), and Oz Fox (guitar, vocals) are really an irreplaceable dynamic duo, producing some of the best guitar work for one of the most influential Christian bands of all time. In their short 25 year career, Stryper have produced no less than 70 original songs most of them containing an amazing bit of guitar work on the part of Oz and Mike and as a collective with Tim and Robert are quite listenable.

With Stryper's new album of covers fast approaching, The Covering will add to Stryper's repertoire another dozen cover songs with more amazing guitar work. FinnStrype is going to need to update his compilations with at least one more volume.
