Nailed Promise - Who the Heck are They?

Nailed Promise

We've no clue who this band is or just why they want to flood our inbox with mp3's and concert dates and press releases, but we suspect it has something to do with ROCK. Apparently they were on P.O.D.'s indie label Rescue Records at one point and have put out somewhere between 2 and 15 albums, but we can only find two listed on iTunes, Realize and Sink Your Teeth ep.

Melee - ROCKandREVIEW.com

Mêlée's got their new album, The Masquerade out today, October 5th, 2010 at digital and retail outlets.
They've also been selected as the iTunes Free Single of the Week, with their song "The Ballad of You and I," and the new album can be had for only $6.99 from the same place.

Mêlée is a pleasant mix of The Script meets Keane on a daytime movie set in LA. Sometimes their sound can be a bit too "Hollywood." However, The Masquerade is a solid effort that is full of meaning and purpose and I think this is an album that their fans are going to find to be their best yet.

Smashing Pumpkins - Does Teargarden by Kaleidyscope Suck?

Artwork released with "Freak" and Vol.2

A while ago I had posted the news about The Smashing Pumpkins' new project entitled Teargarden by Kaleidyscope.  Instead of the traditional LP of 10-16 tracks, Billy Corgan has decided to split up the songs and releasing them over short amounts of time.  This was specifically engineered to cater to changing listener habits - which is ingenious.  This gives a them the potential of staying on listener's minds and ipods much more often.  Additionally, these songs are given gratis (free) - which I do not know where they are getting revenue from - but I applaud them for this gesture.

But I just don't get it...

Cool Artwork at least....

Jeff Grant - Free Album

Local Artist Jeff Grant that has decided to offer up his most recent album for free!  This is third LP entitled Behind the Scenes, which you can also purchase those from the same site, which seems to be a little indie nugget.  You can go and get the entire 16-track album here.

Jeff Grant is a singer/songwriter from the Fort Worth area.  Much of his lyrics are honest, soul-searching, tongue-in-cheek, and sarcastic.  A lot of religious undertones that remind me of Pedro the Lion in the later years.  If you like that type of folk/indie vibe - Check him out.
