Remember that Drummer with the Mad Twitch from
a few days ago? We'll that drummer is none other than Steve Moore, the
self-proclaimed "drummer in the wrong gig." He's actually a rather
accomplished drummer with not only a Mad Twitch, but Mad Skilz.
Click on past the break, or click the upside-down Steve there on the left to see 'Moore' of his crazy antics.

Few things are as awe-inspiring as a well tuned drumline. Tonight we
have the core of the drumline front and center, the snare. And front and
center on the snare is Ivan Pacheco.
Even if your not a drummer, these drum solo's should stir your blood. Ivan Pacheco is one of the best.
Click past the break to witness what are, perhaps, some of the finest examples of marching snare solo drumming.

Certainly one of the most visible drummers of the 80's and not the
type to slow down, Robert Sweet has been going "Full Steam Ahead" since
he first hit the scene back in '82. The picture above played a massive
role in influencing me to play drums, as I am sure it had for hundreds
of others.
Probably best known for his role as the "Visual Timekeeper" for Stryper,
Robert has played in several bands, including a Rod Stewart tribute
band. However, no one can ever mistake his outlandish kits for another
drummer or his heart for anything other than belonging to God.

Was it Marty McFly that said the best stuff is made in Japan? Sadly
that's not been the case for some time, but Ryuga Uchida just might give
Japan the resurgence of inspiration it needs to pull out of the funk
it's in.
Ryuga is only 9 years old and has already been captured playing
some difficult drumming routines. Some people might say: "Man, if this
guy is already playing this good, what hope do I have? I might as well
quit. Ryuga's got it covered." But if this little guy can't encourage
you to take your love for drumming off the shelf, then nothing can.

Here it is the first Friday in August. It's been far too long since we've had an R&R Drum Solo Friday post, so I hope you enjoy this one.
The late 60's and early 70's gave birth to something phenomenal and totally unique. Perhaps due to all the strung-out losers trippin' with nothing better to do than play music or because the world of music demanded the greatness of Mozart, Bach or Chopin to live again, but whatever the reason, Progressive ROCK took over in a big way. Some of the most successful acts of the day were Genesis, King Crimson, Yes and ELP to name a few and of which Bill Bruford was a member of 3/4ths of them.
