The Golden Ratio is Ace of Base's first album since 2002's Da Capo and finds brother Berggren, holding up the fort with fellow Swede Ulf Ekberg and two new female singers, Clara Hagman, and Julia Williamson. Sonically, The Golden Ratio is everything you expect in an Ace of Base album and it's quite hard to tell that Jonas Berggren's sisters are absent as the new vocalists do a great job of filling in where Malin and Jenny left off. You may remember Clara as a semi-finalist on Idol 2009 (Sweden's version of American Idol).

The Golden Ratio originally began production with Jenny, however she formally parted ways with the band to pursue a solo career and her debut album, My Story, will be out in October.

Lyrically speaking, The Golden Ratio does not make you think too hard, never venturing past simplistic lines like "Blah Blah Blah On The Radio." Fans of "The Sign," "A Beautiful Life," and "Don't Turn Around," will find that Jonas has not let them down. The composer of all of Ace of Base's previous hits, has included several on this disc of 13 songs. Stand-out tracks are "Mr. Replay" Feat. Lex Marshall, "One Day," and "All For You," the lead single from The Golden Ratio. Curiously there is also a song on the album entitled "California." Although quite a bit more cohesive than any of their previous releases, The Golden Ratio is not likely to see the U.S. shores unless via import.
