Who would ever thought that a band by the name of Harlem, from Texas, would of created such a huge indie buzz like they have?  Starting out in the second largest city in Arizona,Tuscon, they decided they would rather come to a place of crazy temperatures and great Tex-Mex. Harlem packed up their talent and brought it to the fast growing indie music scene in Austin, Texas. As soon as Harlem took the stage on the infamous Sixth Street, they started to create a mountain of noise. Their live show and their debut album, Free Drugs, created so much buzz that it caught the eye of one of the largest indie labels in the game, Matador Records. Matador signed them to a multi-record, worldwide deal. Nice! Once signed to Matador they re-released their debut album, Free Drugs and out now is their sophomore release, Hippies.

Harlem has a real nice raw, gritty, 60's garage band sound. If you will, picture The Beatles with a more grunge, distortion feel. These guys have a huge Pixies influence with in their original style. If you love the raw energy of indie music, then Harlem is a must. After listening to this band you will realize why they are one of the hottest bands in the Lone Star State.
